Today we went to Bowering Park for some fun! Considering it was a little chilly there were a few more people there then we thought that there would be. The swans would come right up to you. Today is my Nan's 92nd birthday! I was always super close to my nan as she lived with us most of my life. And for many many years I would sleep with her in her downstairs apartment. Now she is in a nursing home in St Anthony so we don't get to see her very much. I sure wish that she lived closer so that she could see Chelsea more often. I try to send her pictures as often as I can so at least she can see her that way. But on the up side, we have a lot of super great relatives in St Anthony who visit her regularly! You could not ask for better relatives then those people in St Anthony who take care of/visit my Nan!

Wednesday night we went to a surprise party for Belinda. It was too funny because the door was suspose to be left open, but instead it was locked. So Mark and Julie had to go to Tim Horton's and try to get the key so we could get in. Anyways, Pete (Belinda's husband) got the message wrong and he ended up dropping Belinda off at Tim Horton's and he came back to the house himself. Anyways, Belinda sat down right next to Mark and Julie and had a coffee! LOL!

Anyways, with all the goings on, she was not surprised! But we still had a great time! What a nice house they have!!!! It is so big that Chelsea, Barry and I could move in and they would never even know that we were there!

Nanny, Mommy and Me!

Nanny LeMaire loves to go different places and be adventurous! One of the things that I admire most about my mom is her adventurous spirit! When we were up with her in Halifax we were all over the place, which is what Chelsea and I love..... My mom goes more places in one year then most people would go in their entire lives.

Chelsea is going to be another "go-go-go" person like her Nanny LeMaire and her me because she loves to go to. Chelsea LOVES to be out at the mall, at Tim Horton's or out riding around in the car. She is not a baby that likes to stay home and do nothing. Nope, she would rather be on the go with Barry and I. I would NEVER be able to leave her home with a babysitter while I ran errands because I would feel too bad about going out without her.

Here are some pictures of my mom, me and Chelsea out in the woods. I think that my mom is the most beautiful person in the world - both inside and out! These are among my favorite pictures!

Snow, Snow, Go Away!

I am sooooo sick of all of this snow! It is unreal..... I just want the cold weather and the snow to go away. I guess the groundhog lied because it seems like spring will never get here. We took soem pictures on Sunday of the snow piles. Barry and Chelsea are in the pictures so you can get an idea of how much snow there is here. Two of the pictures are taken right outside our front door, another is taken by where we parked the car and the last is taken over by my brother, Mark's, house. Look for the "Sorrel Drive" strret sign in one of the pictures....

Here is another pic of the big fire in charlottetown... this view is taken from where we use to live.... this is the part of the buildings that faced us when we looked out our living room windows. They think that it was arson because the tattoo parlour across the street was associated with the Hells Angels and there was a bust there last week....

There was a major fire in Charlottetown last night. The buildings directly across the street from our old apartment burned down last night. Anyone who would have visited with us in Charlottetown would remember the baber shop directly across the street, the tattoo parlour that you could actually see into and the apartment buildings where Barry, Brian and I would watch the people throwing things at each other. Anyways, it burned down last night. Apparently Piazza Joes helped the firefighters.

Anyways, here is more news about our old neighbourhood..... the tattoo parlour which is called Thombstone Tattoo (which was were the fire started) which was the building directly across the street and the one that we could look directly into .......was associated with the Hells Angels and there was a major drug bust there last year. Do anyone remember the owners motorcycle? LOL

Here are some more pictures of our trip to Halifax. Ofcourse, anyone who knows me well, knows that when I was a little girl/teenager the only place that I ever wanted to live was in Halifax and I even had a Halifax map up in my bedroom....LOL. A Stormy Trip to Tim's

We have had storm after storm after storm here in Newfoundland! In fact, last week we had 5 storms in 8 days! We got a lot of snow. Last night, we went into CBS to see my dad for his birthday and it was quite bad on the hightway. Luckily, Tim Horton's is basically next door to us and therefore we do not have to stay in the house "rotting away" just because it is stormy outside..... So here are some pictures of us at Tim's during one of those storms. The shirt that Chelsea is wearing is one of my favorite things that she has (it is a suit with a skirt too). Anyways, it was a present from her little friend Ashley. Thanks Ashley!

Watching Chelsea Sleep

One of my favorite things to do is to sit and watch Chelsea sleep. She looks like an angel, so peaceful and beautiful. I would say that Barry and I only have a few picures of her sleeping, but that would be a huge lie. I am constantly snapping pictures of her when she is sleeping. (I want to remember ever second of her life). Later, I will have to post some pictures of her sleeping in her big girl bed too. She has been into a toddler bed since early fall. She sleeps by herself every night now.... I hate when people give you advice that said that I would spoil her by letting her sleep in the bed with us when she was a baby! It was definately the right decision for us because the transition to her own bed was uneventful. However, the past week she has been waking up at 8:00 for a short cuddle with us before we get up at 8:30. (And I look forward to that each morning). Here are some pictures of her sleeping on our couch - just look at the little fingers.

A True Little Mermaid

What a great day we had! It began with us helping our friends Heather, Tega and Ru move to a new home across town. It was rather chilly outside, but once we started working - well lets just say that we worked up a sweat quite fast! (Now it is just waiting until their new baby is born).

Then it was a quick shower and off to Nathan's sixth birthday party. Nathan had a swimming party at the Aqua Arena. What FUN! This was Chelsea's first time swimming and now I am considering making it a weekly event. Chelsea LOVES swimming. She is amazing in the water - a true little mermaid!

It was even better because a lot of Chelsea's little friends were there too. Also in the pool with Chelsea was birthday boy Nathan, Jenna, Benjamin, Olivia, Arianna, Hannah, Rebekkah, Amber and Amy. (There were some other kids there too that Nathan knew.) We are so lucky that Chelsea has such great little friends!!!!!

Well it is time to reclaim our living room and take all the Christmas stuff down. Actually I have been in the process of taking our stuff down for days and days. I would do so much and then stop.... well tomorrow is Old Christmas Day and all of the stuff has to be put away by the end of tomorrow....

Stealing an idea from Laura, I thought that I would post some of our decorations. There is a pictrue of Chelsea's first Christmas art project (the snoman made from a paint stick), there is Chelsea's baby nativity which Chloe gave her, there is some of her snowbabies from Grandma Porter and there is a picture of our tree (taken about 2 weeks before Christmas when we first put it up).....

We have a Christmas Mystery....

On Christmas Morning, Barry, Chelsea and I joined my Dad, Grandma and Mark and Julie for a big Christmas morning breakfast. (It was yummy too). Anyways, after we finished our breakfast we decided that we should exchange gifts and cards/white envelopes (inside joke). Chelsea must have been a really good girl because Pop Porter gave her money to go shopping with (boy, he knows me too well), Nan Porter gave her clothes (that I picked out), 16 pairs of socks (because I told her that she was running low on socks), some books and a Sarah angel and Mark/Julie gave Chelsea a Cabbage Patch Kid named Taya.....

Anyways, Barry and I had gifts for everyone too and a card. I asked Barry to give out the cards while I opened our present. While he was giving out the cards he asked me who did we get this card from.....? I said that I did not know .... the card was not even opened.... and furthermore it should not have been in the pile of cards that I had seperated the night before to give out in the morning. (i still have no idea how it had gotten in the pile of family Christmas cards)....?????

Anyways, I opened it and discovered that it was a Christmas card from Chelsea Allison....?????? I was speechless and that does not happen very often!!!!!!!!!! Inside the card was money and a note from Chelsea to say that Tim Horton's coffee was on her. WOW!

Now I know that the card and money was from Chelsea, but someone had to have helped her! I have an idea of who the assistant might be. But my mom gave Chelsea money to take us for coffee on Mother's Day.... so it might have been her..... Plus, the card is signed like my mother would have signed it.....

However..... my mom lives in Halifax and there is no postage on the letter (and Julie swears that she did not deliever it)! Plus the outside of the letter is addressed with our address but it does not look exactly like my mothers extremely neat penmenship. Plus, the money insude the envelope was inside a paper pouch so it would not fall out.... and my mother always just puts the money loosly in the envelope.... And there was a sticker on the envelope and my mom does not use stickers on her envelopes..... Can you tell that I have really thought about this....So, it is a real mystery!

Anyways, whoever helped Chelsea with her gift to Barry and I - thanks, it was really nice of you! It was a nice surprise. I was shocked and it took me a few minutes to wrap my head around the fact that the card was from Chelsea....LOL. Anyways, it was one of my best memories of Chirtsmas 2006. It will be going into her scrapbook!

Opening Gifts on Christmas Day

Santa Claus has come to town with a sleigh/transport truck full of toys just for Chelsea. Lets just say that Chelsea must have been a very good girl this year because she got a lot of stuff for Chritsmas! Here are some of the pictures from Christmas morning. She had to open her gifts in two stages. First when she got there she was all dressed up. After a while, she got sleepy and hot (from the dinner being cooked) so we had to put her in a cool T-shirt and let her take a 10 minute nap (that is usually the length of her naps anyways)..... True to Chelsea, she did not go to bed until late Christmas Eve night. Chelsea has been doing good lately as she normally goes to bed around 11:30 or 12:00 here lately. Now Christmas Eve, when children are to go to bed early - well she decided that she was not tired. (This is not uncommon for Chelsea).... Christmas Eve has got to be my favorite day of the entire year! I LOVE Christmas Eve!!!!!! Anyways, this year Christmas Eve was perfect! I got one of my favorite Christmas presents early in the night. My Grandmother did not want to attend church becasue everyone else would be with their families and she would be there alone because she goes to a different church then the rest of the family. She goes to church every week without exception and is very involved in the church, but would not go on Christmas Eve because none of her family would go with her! But, Barry, Chelsea and I decided to surprise her and go with her. She was thrilled with that! But on top of that my brother and his girlfriend decided to go too. What a surprise for her!!!!!! She was so happy, but could not believe that we were all there! Just the look on her face when we all walked in was Christmas present enough for me! She was so excited!!!!! She only has three grandchildren (me, my brother and Chelsea) in NL and we were all sitting there with her!

Then we went back to dads and some of the neighbours came over to see us (mostly Chelsea, I think). Then we all went to a party at another neighbours house. My dad has the coolest neighbours in the entire world! Then we went to Barry's parents house. Quite a night - we did not get home until a little after 12:00..... and Chelsea did not go to bed until after 1am.....

Did I mention that I love Christmas Eve?

Its Christmas Time and we are soooo excited! Santa Claus is coming to town TONIGHT! Chelsea is doing well again now. We were in emergency on Friday night for a few hours because Chelsea had a seizure that lasted for an hour and 10 minutes. Because the seizure did not progress past her waist and she was responsive they deicded not to give her any meds and just hook her up to the monitors and wait it out. This happened once before and it can either have a very good or a very bad outcome - it could be that her meds are borderline and not letting the seizure progress up her body or it could be that her body is rejecting the meds and things will get really bad. Anyways, she is doing really well again now....

On a happier note, her are some pictures of her in her Santa Hat... We are off to CBS to spent some time with family and friends....

On Sunday, Barry, Chelsea and I went to the Nativity Reinactment at Rainbow Riders. It was magical and really demonstrated the true meaning of Christmas! We were all in a barn sitting on stacks of hay. The had musicians and a choir signing Christmas carols and then Collen Wells (chaplain at the hospital) read the Christmas story to which children acted. They had Mary ride in on a horse and they had other animals next to the nativity scene. Chelsea's friend Hannah was Mary and her friend Jenna was the angel. They did a great job! Barry and I have been trying to get a nice picture of Chelsea for our Christmas cards.... but it is not working out very well. It has come to our attention that two year olds don't always cooperate when you want them too....!LOL. Anyways, I had wanted a picture of the true meaning of Christmas so after about an hour setting up an nativity scene and a couple of trips to the store, Chelsea decided that she was not in the mood to have her picture taken.... One is of Chelsea and Renee (as a Hippee) at the Janeway Halloween Party, another one is Chelsea going through her loot when she got back home and the other three were taken at the Halloween party on Saturday. Trick Or Treating

What a great Halloween! Barry took 1/2 the day off work so we could get started early! We began at 2:00 with a party at the Janeway. Then we left at 4:45 to go out to all of our friends houses to get some candy! It did not start out great as when we got to Tega and Ru's house it was pouring rain and Chelsea was crying.... Barry began to think that this was going to be a long night. However, it cleared up and Chelsea took a nap on the way to CBS and was feeling better and we ended up having a great night! We did not get home until after 10:00pm. Here are some pictures of our night.... there is a picture of us trick or treating at Aunt Julie's, Nan and Pop Harts and at Chloe's (Chloe carved the pumpkin in the background).... Also there are pictures of Chelsea in front of Kim and Glen's house.... one picture is her with a mummy and the other one is a dead man coming out of the grave....

Chelsea is going to be a garden fairy (because Renee thinks that she makes a very bad cheerleader)for Halloween - I am so excited! Barry and I are starting to trick or treat around 2:00 when we go to the party at the Janeway. Then we are hitting the streets to get some serious amounts of candy! Barry has half the day off in vacation so we can get the party started! I am so excited for the fun to begin! Hope that everyone has a very scary Halloween! BOO! Now Ladies, don't be jealous because this little cutie is all mine. I want all my friends to meet Brennen - isn't he just the most adorable little boy ever! Everyone always teases us by saying that we are the perfect couple.... they say that I am always complaining and whining (like the typical woman) and Brennen is always cooing and ignoring me....LOL. He can tune me out already! He can even fall asleep while I am squealing. ((My mommy says that boys like you when they tease you and he pulls my pigtails)).

Chelsea got the royal treatment this morning as she met Walter Gretzey. This morning was the ribbon cutting for the CNIB's new family resource room. Chelsea was given a McDonalds breakfast, had pictures taken with Hamburgeler and Walter Gretzey and got to hang out with her little friends Brennen, Sarah and Taya. What Fun! Thanks to McDonalds Children's Charities, The Wayne and Walter Gretzey Foundation and the CNIB for a great morning.... We were soooooo excited this weekend because Lorraine is here for a visit!!!!!!!!... and what a great weekend we had with her! She is one of the nicest people ever and just so much fun to spend time with! Her mother, father and grandfather came in on Saturday to pick her up to bring her to Gander Bay.... and we have pictures!
